Wheatland Hall of Fame Inductees and Volunteers of Distinction

December 8, 2019

The Town of Wheatland Community Hall of Fame was established in 2018 by the Wheatland local Town Government for the purpose of facilitating a community-wide tradition of identifying, recognizing and honoring Wheatland’s most outstanding citizens who have made significant, positive, notable and/or lifetime contributions to the Town of Wheatland in the areas of community, education, recreation, civil and social services. The volunteer "Salute to Excellence" Committee solicits and evaluates candidate nominations, recommending the selection of inductees to the Town Board. For 2019, there were two extremely deserving candidates who were selected for induction into the Community Hall of Fame. Select the specific inductee name below to learn more about the inductee's contributions to our community.

This year an additional type of recognition has been incorporated into the Community Hall of Fame associated with volunteerism in the community, referred to as "Volunteers of Distinction". A “Volunteer of Distinction” is defined as a citizen who has made positive contributions through demonstrated excellence as a volunteer in support of the Town of Wheatland community.  Considerations of excellence include: impact of actions, dedication, scope of effort, longevity of volunteering, innovation, collaboration and breadth of actions. This year thirteen very deserving candidates were selected as "Volunteers of Distinction:

  • Jeff Adair

  • Edie Arlauckas

  • Roger Estes

  • Edd Kuhn

  • Stan Latko

  • Roland Lee

  • Cheryl Marginean

  • Bernie Perry

  • Bart Power

  • David Sheffield

  • Glenn Sickles

  • Mark Turner

  • Karen Wilson

Please join the Town Board and the "Salute to Excellence" Committee in sharing congratulations all those being recognized for their contributions to our community. Plaques for each member of the Wheatland Community Hall of Fame are proudly displayed on a wall in the Wheatland Municipal Building. There is also a list of names presented on the wall recognizing the Volunteers of Distinction.
