The Recreation Department offers a variety of sports programs and athletic events for youth and adults alike. These programs and events are run by skilled program leaders who provide instruction and guidance, depending on the program type.

The Recreation Department has an extensive portfolio of programs, activities and events organized into the following categories:
Sports Programs and Events (Team sports, Individual sport)

Swimming Programs (i.e., lessons, lap swimming, open swim).
Youth Programs and Events (i.e., "Summer Fun" Day Camp).

Youth Indoor Soccer
This program is designed to provide children with recreational soccer activities designed to help younger participants learn soccer rules, develop game skills, all while having fun. Games are played with a foam core soccer ball designed for inside, safe use.
Youth Gym Hockey
This program is played in a gymnasium using plastic sticks, a plastic puck and sneakers. Gym hockey has all the stick handling, passing and team work of ice hockey but in a more benign environment, there is no contact such as checking. This is a high energy activity and fun endeavor for the youthful participants.
Youth Flag Football
This program is designed to provide children with the opportunity to engage in a pre-competitive, instructional games program that teaches the basic flag football skills of passing, receiving, running with the ball, defensive and offensive skills, and the rules and strategies of flag football.
Adult Co-ed Basketball
This program consists of pickup basketball games for both adult men and women, 18 years of age and older. Participants referee their own games, there is a focus on exercise and fitness, along with fun.
Adult Men's Basketball
This program consists of pickup basketball games for adult men, 18 years of age and older. Participants referee their own games, there is a focus on exercise and fitness, along with fun.
This program is focused on helping children develop an understanding of game rules, and build a range of basic basketball skills from dribbling, to passing, shooting and playing defense. Each session includes skills practice and learning, followed by games and lots of fun.
5K Race Event
Whether your run competitively or just for fun, enjoy a great time at the 5K Race Event. The race starts and ends at Johnson Park in Scottsville, with a scenic route through the Village. Awards will be presented to the top male and female entrant in each division. The first 100 entrants receive a T-shirt. This event is held annually on the third Saturday in August.
