Wheatland Scottsville Joint Fire District Tax Rate

Residents who reside in the Wheatland Scottsville Joint Fire District will see their 2022 tax rate for that special district at 2.646039 per $1,000 in assessed value. However, the actual rate established by the District for 2022 is 2.49 but, due to a Monroe County error in the previous year’s 2021 tax bill calculation, the County “adjusted” this year’s rate to recoup monies they did not collect in the 2021 year. In truth, the District’s tax rate remained flat for the two years but it is not able to be seen due to the original error. This year’s rate will be the final year that is not a “true” representation of the Fire District’s rate.
